Q1. What’s the wholesale price of eustoma in Singapore?

The starting point for our wholesale China eustoma double white, single colour price is $28.00 inc. GST per bundle of 10 stems. There is no trade price – the price listed is the price paid by all customers.

Q2. Do I need a trade account to wholesale eustoma?

No, everybody pays the same wholesale price – florists, hotels, event teams, walk-in retail buyers, DIY brides. You don’t have to apply for anything, join anything, or show a trade card.

Q3. What’s the minimum order of eustoma?

Just one bundle of 10 stems. No minimum order quantity at DWF.

Q4. Is there any difference between eustoma and lisianthus?

They’re the same flower – eustoma is the botanically correct name (Eustoma grandiflorum), lisianthus is the commonly used trade name in Europe and North America. In Singapore, most wholesalers and florists refer to it as “eustoma”, but if you’ve come across lisianthus in your wedding mood boards, they mean the same thing.

Q5. How many flowers are there per stem?

Between 3 and 7 blooms per stem, depending on the variety. China standard varieties generally have 3-5 buds per stem. Just like with lilies, eustoma buds gradually open in succession throughout vase life and not in one go.

Q6. Why is eustoma referred to as a rose alternative?

Because the shape and petal fold of a fully opened eustoma flower is very similar to a garden rose – except that it costs about half the price, comes with multiple blooms per stem, and has a much longer vase life. DIY brides on a budget, and event florists who do large-scale installations, always use eustoma when they want something that looks like roses but fits their budget.

Q7. How long will eustoma stay in the vase?

10-14 days, depending on proper care. Two things are critical: following the “no touch petals” rule (refer to the care guide above) and changing the water on a daily basis for the first three days as the lower buds start opening. If you don’t, your eustoma will start browning around day five, looking spent way ahead of time.

EUSTOMA CARE – KEEP THE PETALS UNDAMAGED

Three things that keep eustoma photoshoot ready.

While the paper thin petals of eustoma give the flower its beauty, they are also very delicate and bruise easily and turn brown at the edges when not handled carefully. This is how you keep the petals undamaged.

1: Cut at an angle, immediately into cool water

The stems of eustoma are hollow and dry up faster than rose and chrysanthemum stems. The first thing you need to do is cut every stem at a 45-degree angle immediately after receiving a bunch of flowers. Then place them immediately into a bucket of cool (not cold) water for 30 minutes. Without doing so, you may reduce their vase life from 14 days to 6 days.

2: Remove lower leaves, but leave the upper foliage intact

Eustoma foliage goes bad in water – remove all leaves within the bottom 10 centimeters of each stem. Unlike other flowers, don’t strip the upper foliage of eustoma. The grey-green leaves add volume to the bouquet, plus they photosynthesize to ensure that the buds will open in a timely manner. Excessive stripping will cause the later buds to bloom much slower.

3: Do not touch the petals

This tip is one that no one ever told you about. The petals bruise even if you touch them with your fingers – they start turning brown at the touch point within 24 hours. While handling stems, make sure you only hold them by the stem, not by the flower. If you need to move the flower, support it by the back of a spoon or folded paper instead.
