Hydrangeas. Cloud-like heads. From three countries.

The flower that fills a centrepiece with two stems. Imported fresh weekly from Holland (seasonal premium, year-round greenhouse), Colombia (year-round volume, wide colour varieties), and China (tropical varieties grown at altitude). Sold per stem — not by bundle — because hydrangeas are big, expensive, and one stem already does a lot of work.

One wholesale price for everyone — florists, hotels, event teams, DIY brides, weekend retail. No trade card. No minimum order. No application.

HYDRANGEA CARE — THE RULE NOBODY TELLS YOU

Three things that triple the vase life.

Hydrangeas are the single most demanding cut flower most florists handle. They wilt fast, but they recover faster than almost any other stem — if you know the trick.

1 — Re-cut under boiling water

Not warm. Boiling. Hydrangea stems excrete a sap-like substance at the cut that seals the xylem within minutes. Boiling water dissolves it. Boil a kettle, dip the bottom 2cm of each freshly-cut stem into the boiling water for 30 seconds, then plunge straight into cold water. This is the single most important hydrangea care step — skip it and they wilt by morning.

2 — Submerge wilted heads in cold water

If a head has wilted in transit, don't throw it out. Fill a sink with cold water, lay the entire stem and head horizontally fully submerged for 30–60 minutes. The flower drinks through the petals as well as the stem. A head you thought was dead will often revive completely.

3 — Mist daily, keep out of aircon flow

Singapore's aircon is the enemy. Hydrangea petals lose moisture through their surface area faster than they can replace it via the stem. Mist heads with a spray bottle once a day, keep arrangements away from direct aircon vents, and the heads stay full for the full 10 days.

WHOLESALE HYDRANGEAS SINGAPORE — FAQ

Q1. What's the wholesale price for hydrangeas in Singapore?

Our standard wholesale price for Holland hydrangea starts at $20 per stem inc. GST. Colombia and China hydrangeas start at $15 and $18 respectively. Hydrangeas are sold per stem (not per bundle) because each stem produces a large mophead that already covers significant arrangement volume. There is no separate "trade price" — the price you see is the price everyone pays.

Q2. Do I need a trade account to buy wholesale hydrangeas?

No. Every customer pays the same wholesale price — florists, hotels, event teams, walk-in retail buyers, DIY brides. No application, no membership, no trade-card gate. Walk in to our cold room at 50 Gambas Crescent, or order online.

Q3. What's the minimum order for hydrangeas?

One stem. There is no minimum order quantity at DWF. Whether you need 1 stem for a dinner centrepiece or 200 stems for a ballroom installation, you pay the same wholesale rate per stem.

Q4. Why are hydrangeas sold per stem and not by bundle?

Because one hydrangea head fills the volume of 8–10 rose bundles. A single stem typically produces a 4.5–6 inch diameter mophead — enough to anchor a small centrepiece on its own. Bundling them would force buyers into quantities they don't actually need.

Q5. Which country produces the best hydrangeas?

It depends on what you need them for. Holland sets the global benchmark for mophead density and colour fidelity — premium tier for weddings and high-end events. Colombia is the volume choice with the widest colour range (150+ varieties) at the lowest wholesale price. China is the long-vase-life choice — tropical varieties grown at altitude that hold their shape for the full 10 days.

Q6. How long do hydrangeas last in a vase?

7–10 days with proper care. The key is the boiling-water re-cut technique (see care guide above) — without it, hydrangeas often wilt within 24 hours and most buyers blame the supplier. With it, they routinely hold full shape for the entire vase life window.

Q7. Can I order specific hydrangea colours for a wedding?

Yes. For weddings and large events, WhatsApp us at +65 8845 8888 at least 10 days before delivery. We can reserve specific colours from Holland, Colombia, or China — including natural blues, antique greens, and the more difficult-to-source pastel mixes. Confirm 10 days ahead to give us time to brief our importers.

Q8. When are fresh hydrangeas restocked?

Weekly air freight arrivals from Amsterdam, Bogotá, and Kunming. Specific arrival days vary by air-cargo schedule. Holland availability is strongest June–October (European summer); Colombia and China supply year-round. Our online stock list updates daily.

Building a centrepiece, a wedding, or just one beautiful arrangement?

Either way, you pay the same wholesale price. Walk in to 50 Gambas Crescent for today's stock, or WhatsApp us to reserve specific colours up to ten days out.
