WHOLESALE GERBERA SINGAPORE — FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q1. How much does gerbera cost wholesale in Singapore?

Our regular wholesale rates: gerbera at $8.00 including GST per bunch of 10 stems. There is no separate “trade rate” — the rate you see is the rate paid by everyone.

Q2. Do I require a trade account for wholesale gerbera purchases?

No. Everyone pays the same wholesale price — florists, hotels, event teams, retail customers, DIY brides. No application, no membership, no trade card access required. Come visit us in our cold room at 50 Gambas Crescent, or place an order online.

Q3. What’s the minimum purchase quantity for gerbera?

One bunch of 10 stems. There is no minimum purchase quantity at DWF. Be it one bunch for one bouquet, or 50 bunches for a corporate event — we charge the same wholesale price per bunch of gerbera.

Q4. Why are all your gerbera from Malaysia?

Because Malaysian gerbera farms supply high-quality flowers at the right price point, and the close proximity ensures that we receive them within 24 hours after cutting, making gerbera our freshest flower. Gerbera, unlike roses (Kenya, Ecuador) and peonies (Holland, New Zealand), has no premium origin. Malaysian farms grow gerbera to the high standards of our clients, and for gerbera, freshness plays an even bigger role.

Q5. What colors of gerbera do you have in stock?

Over 15 colours of standard, mini, and double gerbera: red, orange, yellow, pink, hot pink, white, peach, dusty rose, lavender, burgundy, two-toned red-yellow, two-toned pink-white, black centre and red petals, and special seasonal novelty colors. Q6. How long can gerbera be kept in a vase?

Up to 8–10 days with proper care. The secret lies in the shallow water with stem support method (see our care guide above). Without it, gerbera will start wilting in 48 hours and be labeled as a “fragile flower” – but that is not true; there is only one care requirement that most arrangers ignore.

Q7. When do you receive fresh gerbera?

Thrice a week cross-Causeway shipment from our Malaysian suppliers. Gerbera is our freshest flower: while most of our roses take 3–5 days from cutting, gerbera takes only 24–36 hours. Bookmark this page and check the product grid for upcoming big orders.

GERBERA CARE – KEEP THE HEADS UPRIGHT

Three reasons why gerberas droop.

The gerbera flower is an attractive flower but has one weakness. Its head droops at the neck in 24-48 hours if the water cannot reach it. Gerbera is not fragile; however, the reason why most people consider it fragile is the problem with the head droop. Gerbera can last in the vase for 8-10 days. You need three things to keep gerbera upright.

1: Cut the stems and use shallow water only

The stems of gerbera have hollow cavities and absorb water from the lowest 3-4 cm only. Filling the vase with water to the usual levels will not be helpful. The water will rot the stems instead. Each stem should be cut at a 45-degree angle. The vase should contain 4-5 cm of water only. This small change will make gerbera survive for 10 days instead of 3.

2: Use a clear straw or wire to support the heads

The stems of gerbera bend due to the weight of their heads after a while. Professional florists use this trick to prevent the stems from bending. The trick involves slipping a clear plastic straw or wire on top of each stem until it reaches below the head. This will give it enough support without making it visible. Otherwise, the flower will bend its neck and look bad in arrangements. Most Singapore wholesalers do not give this tip. We do.

3: Keep arrangements cool, change water every two days

Gerbera likes sunlight in the field but is highly sensitive to heat when cut. It should be kept at room temperatures (22-24°C in Singapore aircon). Direct sunlight and aircon should be avoided as well. Water in the vase should be changed every two days. Clouded water causes necks to droop in gerbera. The flower gets cloudier faster than other types because of the way it absorbs water.
